August 22, 2019

The 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots! Back in 1969, homosexuality was still considered a crime and was frowned upon socially. Many lost their lives for freedom to express who they were. The next year, the first Pride parade took place in Manhattan! Now, Kygo continued this celebration, and giving the day meaning with a pride event that raised over 11,000 dollars.

PrideFestival happened back in June 30th at Javits Center to benefit LGBTQ charities. Kygo performed with support acts from Cirque du Soleil, Kiaara, J Hart, Leomeo, and a full orchestra accompaniment.

"I'm honored to play," Kygo tells Billboard Dance. "Supporting the LGBTQ community is very important to me. I've been excited for a while to announce this one, and can't wait to put on a very special show."
