Kygo to Play NYC PrideFest To Benefit LGBTQ Charities
It's the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots! Back in 1969, homosexuality was still considered a crime and was frowned upon socially. Many lost their lives for freedom to express who they were. The next year, the first Pride parade took place in Manhattan! Now, we are continuing this celebration of achievements that make that horrific day have meaning.
PrideFestival, presented by Absolut Vodka and produced by Jake Resnicow, will be Sunday, June 30th at Javits Center to benefit LGBTQ charities. Kygo will be performing with support acts Cirque du Soleil, Kiaara, J Hart, Leomeo, and a full orchestra accompaniment.
"I'm honored to play," Kygo tells Billboard Dance. "Supporting the LGBTQ community is very important to me. I've been excited for a while to announce this one, and can't wait to put on a very special show."
Tickets for Utopia are on sale now, and all net proceeds will benefit the LGBTQ charities Stonewall Gives Back Initiative, LIFEBeat, and the Trevor Project. Check the official flyer for more details below.
