Above & Beyond Announce A Yoga Album "Flow State"

Let's Flow

June 24, 2019

Above & Beyond has announced an upcoming ambient album "Flow State" with a 3-track sampler.

The 49-minute panoramic journey of ambient compositions and warm, neo-classical soundscapes offers moments of meditative calm inspired by Above & Beyond's interest in yoga. Taking a step back from their traditional dance anthems that have coined the trio, the new album will explore meditative and calming atmospheres that are made to be experienced in its entirety.

Here's a little piece of the forthcoming LP.

This is a completely seperate piece of work from Above & Beyond's "Common Ground" LP from 2018.

"Flow State" will be released through the band's Ajunabeats imprint on July 19th. As a precursor to the release, a three-track EP – featuring new track ‘Believer’ plus classics ‘Small Moments’ and ‘Sun In Your Eyes’ – drops today on International Yoga Day and offers a small window into the full Flow State experience.

The album is inspired by a spontaneous sunset set accompanying a massive yoga session at Burning Man in 2014, and their recent shows at The Gorge Ampitheatre in Washing and recently here in California at their Hungington Beach event. This new deep-house, yoga inspired playlists preach mindfulness in music.

Above & Beyond’s Paavo Siljamaki opens up about Flow State:

"Our music has always been about getting in touch with, and understanding and accepting our emotions. After those amazing yoga sets, we realized that there is a bigger place for this more reflective music within our little universe. With the Flow State project, we want to help bring people’s attention and focus towards helping themselves find better mental fitness and overall happiness in life. Through raised awareness, being more present, one can reach a state of flow: a creative and free state of mind where time, fear and stress dissipate."
