Virtual Self, Disclosure, Above & Beyond, and Zedd Grammy Nominations

January 10, 2019

Porter Robinson's Virtual Self project is contending for a Grammy in the Best Dance Recording category for the song "Ghost Voices", which is a song bringing hard dance to the scene. The continued support from mainstream sources show a big win for Porter Robinson. Other songs being nominated in that category are currently Disclosure's track "Ultimatum",  a very popular-fast paced new single from Fisher "I'm Losing It", and Above & Beyond's signature style with a more soothing melody "Northern Soul".

Zedd is the only EDM artist of the year to hold three Grammy nominations, and some even outside of the dance focus categories.  Zedd is nominated for Record of the Year from his collboration with Marren Morris. The producer, DJ, and artist is also up for two other Grammy awards with his track “The Middle” including Song of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.

And as for the Best Dance Album nominations, these dive a little heavy on the electronic side with Sofi Tukker's record "Treehouse",  Jon Hopkins' LP "Singularity", and the album edit "Woman Worldwide" by Justice. Nominations also include SOPHIE's "Oil of Every Pearl's Un-Insides" and STOKiMONSTA‘s "Lune Rouge".
